    Academic Achievement

The focus on high academic achievement is one of the founding principles of sorority life. Each chapter has a scholarship chairman who is responsible for the academic success of the chapter. The scholarship chairman organizes programs including tutoring, study nights, and awards to encourage all members to achieve academic excellence. The Greek community creates an atmosphere where women are encouraged to maintain a high level of academic success, recognizing chapters and individuals for their achievements.

    Leadership Development

The CSUSB Greek community is dedicated to building future leaders for society by providing a wealth of leadership opportunities. Membership in a sorority is an excellent way to discover or refine your leadership potential. Within each chapter, members have a chance to assume a wide variety of leadership roles. Examples of these roles include serving as recruitment chair, treasurer, social chair, president, and many others.

    Opportunities include:

    • Chapter Leadership Position
    • National Leadership Conventions
    • National Leadership Institutes
    • Chapter Member Development Workshops
    • Regional Leadership Conferences

    Volunteer Service & Philanthropy

One of the most rewarding aspects of sorority life is the sense of satisfaction that comes with involvement in volunteer service. Philanthropy is when a group works together to help the community by raising money for an important cause or performing a service project. Each year, sororities support their individual national philanthropies at the local level by donating time, raising money, and participating in campus-wide volunteer projects.

    Our organizations support:

    • Breast Cancer Awareness and Research
    • Girl Scout of America
    • Women’s Cardiac Care
    • Ronald McDonald House Charities

Sisterhood is a tradition that each chapter shares; it’s the foundation of sorority life. Participating in recruitment and becoming part of the Greek community means that you will be meeting lots of people and making new friends. The relationships you build with fellow sorority women will be some of the closest friendships you have.

    Sisterhood Activities Include:

    • Chapter Retreats
    • Scrapbooking/Craft Nights
    • Pizza Nights
    • Formals/Semi-Formals
    • Movie Nights
    • Laser Tag Events
    • Sports Tournaments

While the Greek community promotes high standards of scholarship, develops leadership skills, and provides community service, they also have fun! Fraternities and sororities offer many social outlets for their members, and each organization sponsors events each quarter. Formal and semi-formal dances, mixers, and philanthropy events are just a few examples of the diverse opportunities to interact and develop h3 friendships among the entire Greek community. Go Greek and have fun! FRIENDSHIP One of the most important components of Greek life is friendship. Brotherhood and sisterhood are what hold Greek organizations together. Deep friendships develop through working together toward common goals and provide a sense of family. Even after graduation the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood still exist, and often grow more. Go Greek and develop lifelong friendships!
